Community Literacy Circles
The Community Literacy Circles Program brings the joy of reading directly into neighborhoods by creating welcoming spaces where children and families gather to experience books, storytelling, and conversation together.
Led by award-winning author Sharon Jones-Scaife, founder of Lil’ Marco and Friends, these small-group sessions help children build confidence, strengthen literacy skills, and discover the joy of reading.
Literacy Circles take place in schools, libraries, churches, and community spaces—making books and positive reading experiences more accessible to families.
Each session includes:
• Interactive storytime
• Engaging literacy activities
• Guided discussion that builds confidence and comprehension
• Opportunities for children to access books and continue reading at home
By bringing stories directly into communities, the program helps inspire a lifelong love of reading while encouraging children to see themselves as readers, learners, and leaders.
